Three Siena Women's Lacrosse Players and Team Honored by IWLCA

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena women's lacrosse players Katie Ostrye, Emily Winslow and Jaclyn Papa earned Academic Honor Roll status as announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association. Siena is one of 50 institutions in Division I that earned Academic Squad honors as announced by the IWLCA. Athletes must have achieved junior status and a minimum GPA of 3.2. Teams must have a collective GPA of 3.0 or greater to earn this distinction.

Ostrye (Katonah, N.Y./John Jay) graduated this May with a 3.72 GPA. She started all 14 games this season and registered 34 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. Ostrye started 28 of 42 games during her four year career.

Winslow (Webster, N.Y./Webster Shroeder) graduated this May with a 3.86 GPA. She started all 14 games in 2008, scooping 20 ground balls and causing 10 turnovers. Winslow started 44 of 48 games during her four year career.

Papa (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) returns as a junior with a 3.78 GPA. She started all 14 games on defense, collecting 20 ground balls.

Siena was one of 50 Division I teams to be receive Academic Squad honors. The Saints had a cumulative GPA of 3.21. The women's lacrosse team was one of 12 (out of 18) varsity programs at Siena to have a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
