Washington, D.C. - Senior Patty Piotrowicz (Plymouth Whitemarsh, Pa.) scored the game-winning goal with 7:11 to go and the Hoyas were able to control possession over the final four-plus minutes as the seventh-ranked Georgetown University women's lacrosse team edged No. 6 Princeton, 9-8 on Saturday afternoon at the Multi-Sport Field. GU gave graduating seniors Zan Morley (Philadelphia, Pa), Piotrowicz and Amelia Wesselink (Exeter, N.H.) a victory in their final regular-season home game. Georgetown trailed 6-4 at halftime but won six of the eight draw controls in the second half while the Hoyas held a 28-13 advantage in ground balls for the game. Sophomores Molly Ford (Reisterstown, Md.) and Ashby Kaestner (Trappe, Md.) and freshman Jordy Kirr (Baltimore, Md.) all recorded two goals.
