Storrs, Conn. - Freshman Jordy Kirr recorded a career-high eight points with five assists and three goals and the No. 9 Georgetown University women's lacrosse team posted a 16-7 victory at Connecticut in BIG EAST action on a comfortable and breezy Sunday afternoon. The Hoyas (10-5) finish BIG EAST play with a 3-2 record and earn the No. 3 seed in next weekend's BIG EAST Tournament.

Georgetown will take on second seeded Notre Dame at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 25 inside Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana in the second BIG EAST semifinal. Top seed Syracuse will duel with No. 4 seed Rutgers in the opening semifinal game at 5:30 p.m.

The Hoyas held a 6-1 lead over the UConn on Sunday before the Huskies pulled to within 8-6 with 20 minutes to go in regulation. Georgetown then scored three quick goals to extend its lead to 10-6 to put the game away.
