DENVER-- The Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse announced their coaching staff for the 2008 season. Brian Reese will continue to serve as the team's head coach and general manager, and will be assisted with the leadership of offensive coordinator Bill Edell, defensive coordinator Trevor Tierney, assistant head coach Tom Graesser, and Jon Barocas, director of college scouting.

Reese took over the head coaching duties after the Outlaws' fifth game of the 2007 season with the team's record at 2-3. The team responded by winning five of its last seven games and reaching the MLL playoffs.

Prior to Reese's arrival, the Outlaws allowed an average of 19 goals per game. After Reese assumed head coaching duties, the team allowed just 13 goals per game in the remaining seven regular season games. "I'm excited to be back on the sidelines this year for the Outlaws. We have a great group of players and the staff we have assembled will work hard to make them even better," Reese said.

Reese is well experienced in the lacrosse world, as a former player in the NLL from 1998-2005, and in the MLL from 2001-2005, where he was a four-time member of the MLL All-Star team. He was named Outlaws general manager in 2005 and has since seen impressive success with his team.

Bill Edell will be entering his first season as the Outlaws' offensive coordinator. Edell played professionally from 1994-2002 for the Boston Blazers and the Boston Cannons. He earned All-American titles in high school and later in college and was a 1993 NCAA Division I Lacrosse first team All-New England selection, four-time All-USCLA selection and 2006 Hall of Fame Inductee, Hudson Valley Chapter of US Lacrosse.

"Bill brings a tremendous amount of experience to our team. He was a very intelligent and hard working player and I know he will instill those same qualities to the Outlaws team," said Reese. Edell currently resides in Castle Pines North, Colo., and works as the West Regional Sales Manager for Harrow Sports, Inc.

Former Outlaws goalie Trevor Tierney will assume the position of defensive coordinator for the 2008 season. In 2001, Tierney was named NCAA Division I Goalie of the Year, All-Academic All-American and First Team All-American. Tierney led the 2002 U.S. national team to the gold medal and was later selected to the All-World Team, while also being recognized as Most Outstanding Goalie of the ILF World Championship.

Trevor's Major League Lacrosse career took off immediately following graduation. In 2005, Trevor became an MLL champion with the Baltimore Bayhawks, and was also selected for the MLL All-Star Game. His impressive career led him to two other MLL All-Star appearances with the Denver Outlaws in 2006 and 2007, where he also served as captain both years.

"Trevor has an incredible knowledge of lacrosse and specifically about the style of lacrosse played in the MLL," said Reese. "He will continue to be a tremendous asset to our organization." Trevor currently resides in Denver and works as the Creative and Marketing Director for Icon Lacrosse in Superior, Colorado.

Tom Graesser returns to the Outlaws as a third-year assistant coach. Tom has coached high school lacrosse for over 40 years, with a record of 319-112. His teams have won nine state championships and Graesser has earned Coach of the Year honors nine times during his career. "Tom has been an integral part of our team's success the past two years. His experience as a coach helps in so many different areas and we are fortunate to have him on our staff," commented Reese. Graesser is originally from Buffalo, New York and currently coaches and teaches at Kent Denver School.

Jon Barocas will continue his role as director of college scouting. He is the head coach of the Denver East High School boys' lacrosse team and has engineered nine state championships. He has also produced players who have gone on to win a combined eight NCAA national championships and 29 All-Americans. A native of Colorado, Barocas is currently the chairman/CEO of bieMedia, LLC an international multimedia company.
